I was overjoyed to hear yesterday’s breaking news that Pope Francis will consecrate Russia (and Ukraine, which is for all practical purposes Russia) on Friday, March 25 . . . that is, until I quickly realized he has not as yet ordered the world’s bishops to participate, as directed by Our Lady. Since then, Latin American bishops have stated they will join the consecration, and Bishop Strickland in Tyler, Texas, has tweeted the same. But we need them all!
So today I mailed letters to our Missouri bishops, urging them to join Pope Francis in consecrating Russia next week. I then posted an Open Letter to the World’s Bishops on Catholic365.com, which you can read here. I hope it inspires you to write your own message.
For your convenience, here are the Missouri bishops’ mailing addresses:
Most Reverent Mitchell T. Rozanski, Archbishop of St. Louis, Cardinal Rigali Center, 20 Archbishop May Drive, St. Louis, MO 63119
Most Reverend W. Shawn McKnight, Bishop of Jefferson City, 2207 West Main Street, Jefferson City, MO 65109
Most Reverend James V. Johnston, Bishop of Kansas City/St. Joseph, The Catholic Center, 20 W. 9th Street, Kansas City, MO 64105
Most Reverend Edward M. Rice, Bishop of Springfield/Cape Girardeau, The Catholic Center, 601 S. Jefferson Avenue, Springfield, MO 65806
Most Reverend Mark S. Rivituso, Auxiliary Bishop of St. Louis, Cardinal Rigali Center, 20 Archbishop May Drive, St. Louis, MO 63119
Thank you!
